To help care for our son Boone
We are looking to hire 1-2 nurses to look after our son for daytime hours in our home.
Boone is an ex 24 weeker who is a healthy, active, and developmentally on par 18 month old. Due to his tracheostomy attending a daycare facility is not an option so with the help of the County of Wellington & our LHIN we are seeking in home nursing & child care.
In addition to his tracheostomy he is tube fed but we're working on oral feeding!
Description
We are looking to hire a contract nurse(s) to care for our 18 month old son Mondays - Fridays 9am - 4pm at our home near Damascus Ontario. The hours are flexible and we can discuss more details if you're interested. The position will begin March 2021 and is flexible on exact start date with full training to be provided.
At least one parent will be home at all times on the second floor. This is a contract position and you will be hired an an independant contractor (not an employee). Rate of pay is dependant on experience a qualifications but will be $30-$40/hr.
What you’ll be doing

Suctioning tracheostomy

Preparing and administering feeds via syringe

Administer medications if prescribed during shift

Changing diapers / assist with potty training

Creating a safe and stimulating environment

Indoor and outdoor play

Educational activities and crafts

Reading

Putting him down for a nap

Light housekeeping at it pertains to Boone (sweeping, laundry, dishes etc)
What we’re looking for
-
Licensed RN/RPN (required)

Experience with pediatrics an asset
-
Experience with tracheostomy & g-tube
-
Experience in child care, either professional or as a parent

Physically able to keep up with a busy and growing toddler (currently 20lbs)

Comfortable with pets (dog & cat indoors and we live on a farm)

Must have own transportation (we live rural)

Provide a vulnerable sector check
